i love the sound of the dillinger. incredibly versatile sound. I play in both a metal band and a prog rock band so i need variation. Am very glad the used armory kit I am getting comes with one :) think it would sound great jacked up at a high tuning.

I don't get it, I thought the whole point of a cajon is a kinda versatile drum you play with your hands. . . This is just replacing the kik drum with a wooden box and the rest is off a standard drum set ??? Plus you can't play the cajon the way it was intended cos it ain't got no snare wires. . . I hope you're all laughing too. . . I have a cajon, but I use a stomp box as my kik drum, and play the rest with my hands. Much better tones, isolation and overall sound in my humble opinion. . . You can easy build a stomp box by putting a speaker into a box and wire it to a jack, then plug to your amp/P.A. The bigger the speaker the deeper the tone, I used an old 8" subwoofer. Awesome sound. . . Enjoy. . .

take a look at something called the Janka scale for grading hardwood hardness. Maple is not the softest of these materials. the order would actually go oak maple, then hickory from softest to hardest. while it’s not actually softer than oak, it is lighter and more flexible. oak is more dense and stiff. hitting something light and flexible SEEMS softer than hitting something dense and rigid which is why many people think maple is softer, but it is not.

I've bought a reference pure beautiful drumset can't fault reliability and quality they truly are a flash drumset a class of there own worth every cent you'd never be disappointed with pearl drums from beginners to medium n top of the range kits like masterworks and reference I can honestly say pearl has the name people get caught buying cheap drums if you want a great 2 hand beginner drumset pearls the choice like I stated it doesn't matter what level of set your after there all solid as a rock as the saying goes buy it once play it for life that's the quality of pearl instruments as for myself a fine musician I would like to personally apluad all the skilled workers at the pearl factory in Taiwan who built my reference pure set in the stunning scarlet sparkle burst it truly is a work of art and China all do a great job in producing fine drumsets to be played on for many years to come keep up the fine craftsmanship pearl 🎉

There’s an earlier comment about unusual sizes. I disagree…. 15” is just the perfect companion to a 12”. It’s my favourite floor Tom size - sweet spot between 14 & 16” - it’s great to have some manufacturers still offering this size.

I saw this video when it came out 6 years ago and thought this was a good idea. I had the same thought then as I do now but I never commented. I have large feet and find it terribly difficult to splash my hats with a 3 legged stand while 2 legged hi hats aren't terribly stable. I've always preferred the feel of flat based hat stands for that reason. Oh yeah, and use a double pedal. I ordered this exact set but not from Lone Star though. Want to know why? B/C this smug ass hat thinks it's funny that anyone with a double pedal would use this stand. NO, he thinks it's freaking hilarious. How many sales did you lose here LSP? Who knows, it was your choice.
